Harrison Watts

harrison-watts02Harrison began law enforcement in 1992 while working for the Denton County Sheriff's Office as a detention officer. He graduated from the Tarrant County College Police Academy in 1992 and began working as a patrol officer for the Vernon Police Department. He promoted and served as a detective and sergeant in the criminal investigation division. In 1997 Harrison took a position as an state investigator with the Texas Youth Commission. He served in that capacity for one year before taking a position as an instructor of criminal justice and political science at Vernon College where he taught for four years. Harrison is currently an assistant professor of criminal justice at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. Harrison earned the Associate of Applied Science from Vernon College in 1995. He also received the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences from Midwestern State University in 1996. He received the Master of Arts in Political Science/ Public Management from Midwestern State University in 1998. He is currently conducting post graduate work at Sam Houston State University. Harrison is a decorated police officer. He currently holds the TCLEOSE master peace officer license, jailer license, and instructor's license. He has received the TCLEOSE award for educational achievement. In addition, he serves as a reserve deputy constable with the Wilbarger County Constable's Office ~ Precinct 2. Furthermore, he is a graduate of the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas -- Leadership Command College. His publications include: Warnings Not Needed and The Written Police Entrance Eexam Not Needed Here. He is the past vice-president of the Texas & Oklahoma Criminal Investigators Association. He is currently a member of Pi Sigma Alpha and Phi Theta Kappa both international honor societies. Harrison is actively involved in staff and executive training and specializes in sudden custody death and legal aspects of law enforcement.
